That is what I thought when I saw this sweet and elegant line. It has gotten some great mentions in the news including this story link where some background information was given:

"Quebecers can be Bratz too" Craig Silverman
"They wanted me to do a French-Canadian doll," she says. "At the beginning it was just for Quebec and it was just one doll. But it ended up being three dolls for Canada and Europe." Saint Pierre says she tried to bring a different approach to the dolls. "Bratz are inspired by what women and young girls wear, and the dolls are very trendy," she says. "I tried to give them something more on the artistic side...they reflect a more romantic sensibility."

Only 30,000 will be available at WalMart in early November 2006
in Canada so keep an eye out and if you see them get them!

Did you know right away what you wanted the Bratz Haute Couture en Coulisse line to be dressed in or did you have to think about it for awhile? Were Noemie, Emy and Amlie the names you choose for them?

I thought the clothes that I wanted to do for them had to be filled with innocence and romanticism. I did not choose the names and yes I knew right away what I wanted to design.

What would you say that these characters as French Canadians have that is unique to them in all the world? What is the style, and attitude you feel is unique to a group of Bratz girls who are living in Quebec?

French Canadian fashion is a bridge between Europe and the States, we are very close to the European lifestyle, yet we love the fast pace of North America.

As you were creating them what little stories were going on inside your head as you thought them out? Any adventures you thought this one or that one might have had, hobbies, goals?

They would certainly be part of the cultural activities of their town, they love exhibitions, concerts, they take art courses, remix music, like to dine out and live in architectural oriented spaces.

Did you pick the specific Bratz you wanted to use?

I did not pick the characters from Bratz, they where given to me!

Can you explain your philosophy on what Couture is?

Couture is about hand crafting details and limited editions, it is nice to wear something more unique.

What is your defintion of glamour?

Glamour is an attitude!

What is your design process? Do you see the fashions in your mind first then sketch or do you start to drape and see where the ideas go?

The fabrics are the starting point of the design, then I like to sculpt it and define a structure that allows movement.

Where do you find your inspirations?

I get inspired by everything, present, past, end, future and then I let my instinct do the rest.

Who are the kinds of people that buy your designs? Do you see where they wear their garments and what was the most unusual place/destination that a garment was worn?

A lot of my clients come from the world of communication, arts and design. Yes they do travel all over the world with my pieces and they like to wear them because they are so versatile. One client told me she wore a piece to a red carpet event in Cannes and the next day the same piece worn completely differently on the beach.

What would your advice be to young people inspired by you, designing fashions and being their own boss?

I love every day of it but it is difficult.

I have read your daughter is a Bratz collector, do you have any Bratz you bought for yourself? If so what is your favorite Bratz character?

Jade is a favorite character!

What would you, as a parent who likes the Bratz, say to parents who claim the dolls are harmful and negative?

Dolls are a fantastic way to get the creativity out of a little girl, story telling, style, lifestyle, parents would learn a lot watching their daughters playing with dolls.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of fashion? Do you have any pets? What is a typical "Day In the Life" for you?

I have a dog, a rabbit and a turtle I love outdoors, roller blades, sky and most of all traveling.

Thank you so much for taking time out of an extremely busy schedule to share with Bratz World!
